Like chopsticks in the ears, but worse

Internet, my ears will never be the same again.

More Positive Than Your Average Bear and I have accounts on last.fm, and today I thought it would be a good idea to listen to the tracks he's 'favorite-d.' BIG MISTAKE. I don't know what just happened, but my ears were assaulted like never before (well, there was that one time I had to sit through Hakim's assuredly drug-induced performance at my cousin's wedding, but that's neither here nor there). One of the songs was a TECHNO REMIX OF A BRITNEY SPEARS SONG. God, give me strength.

Help me recover, Internet. If you could recommend one (or more!) song(s) right this minute, what would it (they) be? I need help, world. Help me. Help me. Help me.

lol love the word techno :) it's akin to using the disco-tech appellation when refering to a 'dance club.'

the remix of the BS song is most likely house :)....love the word techno tho haven't heard it in ages!

ps techno died in the early 90's, and gave birth to a bevy of sub-genres, ranging from trance to the auditory irritant du jour-----hardstyle.

Little One: You know I can't pick up on jokes like that.

Ibhog: I will probably hate the The Cranberries song, but I like CC! Will YouTube from work tomorrow.

Ahmed: See, the song was THAT bad! I didn't even know how to describe it. Thanks for the lesson, but I think I like the word 'techno' too much to throw it to the wayside. And, no song suggestion?

oh ya sorry i forgot...

any Nina Simone should do the trick. or if you're into indian the 'raga marwa' is very soothing, the artist preforming this particular raga is Ram Narayan.

enjoy!

A little late in the game, but thanks for all the suggestions! It's been confirmed that none of my readers (well, commenters at least) share my taste in music. But I liked all of these, so feel free to add to the list whenever you'd like!

hmmm...very interesting so nothing from pop-->classical-->world--->to jazz is of interest?

Pax: You read me like an open book.

Actually, the Heavy D song is the closest, but I forgot about it.

no, she only likes music made by black people, basically. and the more it makes mention of vulgar-ass shit, the better she likes it!

lol forsooth you sound like an old chris rock skit about raunchy rap lyrics!

well i hope you liked it! she is actually the biggest buzz in paris at the moment mixing comedy/drama/jazz in her live act.

Tamer: Not my favorite, but my sister will eat this up! She loves this kind of stuff. And eventually she'll put it on a cd, I'll listen to it repeatedly in my car, and then love it myself. Thanks for the suggestion.

Also, Forsooth is spot on. Songs that reference "shorties" are high up there, too.
