Colors Only

I've been on a 'no-white-food' diet for about two weeks now. While I'm still eating dairy, I've cut out all bread, rice, pasta and potatoes (THE HORROR!). I would do nasty, nasty things to someone for a bowl of spaghetti right now, but I have to admit, this diet is working wonders. Without a fully-stocked refrigerator (not the norm, but most weekends), I've been forced to improvise certain meals. Yesterday, not wanting to eat the "light" bran flakes in the kitchen cabinet because no, cardboard is not my favorite food flavor, I opted for some fava beans...and roughly 30+(ish) Peanut M&Ms. This food choice may give me rock hard(er) abs, but I'll probably need to do something about the side order of diabetes that's most likely to come along with it.

Eating a giant plate of spaghetti as I read. Honestly. (since it's about 25% of my cooking repertoire.)

So, is the colours only diet working??

Hmm, everything's all screwed up. I wasn't eating 'white food' for a few weeks, and then I got sick, and now all I can eat is plain rice, pasta, boiled potatoes and toast. I can't even enjoy the things I prohibited myself from having because everything tastes like cardboard!

Very jealous of your pasta. What kind of sauce?

That was a quick response. I'm guessing you're at work? :)

Dude, if everything tastes like cardboard then you might as well eat lettuce. Are salads still too complex for your stomach? it should be alright for a weakened organism...

Sauce: Hmm.. tomato, basil, olive oil, and other random herbs i found in my kitchen.

Yup, at work. I love lettuce! I'm a big fan of salads, but I like them to be swimming in dressing, and that's definitely not good for this sorry excuse for an organism.

I'm a big fan of simple pasta sauces. No need to overly fluff an already great thing. What constitutes the other 75% of your repertoire?

Mind you, i was once a decent cook. Made a mean 7allet bamya, with the thick artery-clogging sauce and all. (trick: plenty of lemon).
Right now I'm all for simplicity. And you can buy everything ready-made here anyway...
Am trying to move towards slightly more healthy stuff though. Today's pasta is (should be) an exception.
Eeeek.

Hmm, won't be using your trick because I think bamya is GROSS, but thanks anyway. Where do you live now that ready-made deliciousness is available at your fingertips?

Mo-ha-med said...

Mine isn't gross. Hmph.

Paris, since Christmas...

Okra's hairy. Enough said!

Paris - can't say it's my favorite city. How're you finding it?

Had you asked me this morning, I'd have given you an unequivocally hateful answer.
But today was a good day, and spring is finally here (just in time for the summer, ha!)

So, my final verdict?
It could be better, but it doesn't suck.

(hehehe.. you and your "not my favourite city"..
Aren't we a pretentious pair... "Paris? Not my favourite. Milan? Hmm, a few good places for lunch but beyond that, nothing to do. Singapore? Ewww, humid...)

Yay for spring! And Paris really isn't my favorite city - it deserves to be poo-pooed!
